The DONOR autologous blood reinfusion system has been developed by Van Straten Medical in cooperation with Medinorm and Pall Medical.
For patient's own blood. DONOR is a system for post-operative blood reinfusion after orthopaedic surgery (non-battery operated).
The DONOR reinfusion system offers unique technology:
- Completely closed pre-vacuumed wound drainage device (Van Straten Medical & Medinorm)
- Unique and excellent filtration and reinfusion technology (Pall Medical)
Benefits of the DONOR system:
1. Eliminating possible infection of diseases transmitted by allogeneic blood i.e. HIV, Hepatitis B&C, BSE.
2. The DONOR system is the only completely closed
pre-evacuated sterile system available. If used in the prescribed
manner, it eliminates both cross-infection and air-borne infection.
3. The DONOR system is based on Constant Low Vacuum Suction by means of a patented control mechanism.
The Constant Gentle Suction results in:
- no blockages of the drainage tube
- faster wound healing
- Prevention of haemolysis
4. The Pall LipiGuard has been validated with the DONOR system, and
effectively removes harmful particles such as lipids, microaggregates
and C3a complement.
